Exterior Design Gets a More Modern Look
The most drastic change in the new Tata Tiago is at the front. The redesigned hatchback features new, sleeker LED head lamps, eye-catching black eyebrow-shaped daytime running lamps and a cleaner black grille than before. The chrome strip, which was present in the previous model, has been removed, to give the front a fresher and sportier look.
There has also been extensive changes to the bumper design, which is more aggressive, and the old halogen fog lamps have been replaced by pixel-style LED headlights. The bumper-mounted and ORVM-mounted camera modules hint at a more high-end 360-degree camera feature, giving the facelift a much more sophisticated feel than the previous version.
Side Profile Remains Familiar
The new Tiago looks very similar to its predecessor when viewed from the side. Tata has kept most of the design of the body unchanged, making the hatchback instantly recognizable to the existing fans of the Tiago. The chrome detailing, the blacked-out B-pillar and body-colored door handles are unchanged features.
The most obvious side enhancements are the newly styled 15-inch alloy wheels and black wheel arch cladding. Such modifications make the Tiago look slightly tougher and more stylish and intact with the proven design language.
Rear Design Feels More Premium
The new Tiago gets a more distinct makeover than the older Tiago. In addition, new tail-lights now include vertical LED strips on both sides, which are linked by a stylish light bar, offering a broader and more upscale appearance.
The rear camera has also been repositioned from the tailgate to the bumper, and the Tiago badge has been lowered down for a cleaner look. The rear styling is further updated with minor bumper redesigns and re-location of reverse lights.

The new Tiago inside the cabin is much more noticeable than outside. Tata has also adopted a new interior aesthetic with a fresh two-tone black and light grey theme, enhancing the interior to appear more premium than before.
Gloss-black trims have also been introduced in parts such as the steering wheel, door armrests and center console. The overall dashboard design is cleaner and more modern, providing a greater premium impression for buyers compared to the older cabin layout.
Enhanced features for everyday living
The upgraded Tiago includes some handy features that make daily driving more convenient. The cabin has been made more technology-led and modern with the replacement of the old instrument cluster with a digital driver display.
Tata has also introduced dual-device wireless charging, front dual Type-C charging ports (with a fast 65W charger), rear AC vent, rear USB charging support and seatback pockets. The additions make the hatchback a much more family-friendly, and smartphone-driven vehicle for buyers.
Safety and equipment could be improved
The new Tiago should be even more attractive thanks to enhancements to safety. Rumors have it that Tata is considering offering six airbags as standard on the newer model, which would certainly add to its value proposition.
It also includes a 360-degree camera, making it more practical and convenient to drive in urban areas. Not all of the features are new, however, such as fixed rear headrests, a testament to the fact that things don’t change that quickly.
Engine options are likely to remain unchanged
Tata, mechanically, seems to be sticking with the tried and tested power train options. The existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the CNG model are likely to remain, with performance levels comparable to the previous model.
This should be comforting to those who value the Tiago’s proven track record of performance and fuel economy, as both manual and AMT transmissions will likely continue to be offered.
Price Expectations
With the additional features and improvements in design, the new Tata Tiago could be a bit more expensive than the previous model. The current model’s price begins at around ₹4.60 lakh and goes up to around ₹7.68 lakh for the higher variants.
Despite the relatively low price hike, the facelifted Tiago is projected to be competitive with its peers such as the Maruti Celerio, Maruti Wagon R and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
